Come on guys, you in Europe had your asses behind a wall in the 2nd world war. You could as least be grateful that somebody came to your aid big time. The British army was already a spent force by 1942, all it could do was hold out in Britain.

US forces r too kind or better wording is "concerned about civilians". If the russian troops were there- the would have flattened the city w/o any concern for the "civilians".

The battles of Imphal and Kohima are two of the more famous ones that the British fought against the Japanese. Australia lent out a hand also.
