Cerca de mi casa vive un señor mayor, que una vez emocionado me conto que fue a ver a Andres Segovia la unica vez que vino a Guatemala (ya hace mas de 40 años) y ahora yo tambien puedo gozar de su arte por medio de Youtube jajaja.

Desde niño escuché a mi padre hablar de Andrés Segovia, pero solo hasta hace como un año gracias a la internet pude ver el primer video de este genio de la guitarra, ahora hay gran variedad, para mí en particular esta pieza tiene un encanto especial, así como el matiz y el sentimiento con que el maestro Segovia la interpretaba, (o la sigue interpretando, gracias a la tecnología) muchas gracias a los que han subido diferentes versiones de Asturias a youtube.

I think age finally caught up on him. He was really amazing when he was younger. Still very good considering other younger players tend to play faster than they should.

The versions I've seen & he pretty much plays it the same, I guess it's just his interpretation, Classical isn't really as rigid as thought because nobody really knows how any composition should really sound, it's all personal, actually tuning the guitar a whole step down to D standard & playing it in G with the tremelo on the high D is in key with the original score & is interesting.

He almost always played this piece with those delayed attacks, and I don't know why. But this doesn't seem to be played with the same technical proficiency that he always exhibited, especially in the tremolos. May be it was the guitar?

man! watching this huge man acting so graciously over that awesome instrument which is a guitar! he's simply divine!
