Semana Santa Valladolid. La Piedad. "La Quinta Angustia" (Gregorio Fernández, h. 1620). Conocida en sus origenes como cofradia de los "Xinoveses" , estuvo en un primer momento compuesta por banqueros y asentistas cercanos a la corte del Carlos I. En 1578 es fundada por los propios vallisoletanos. Se trata de un altorrelieve que representa a la Virgen de la Piedad y es obra de Gregorio Fernández. Este paso, de 1625, es el titular de la Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de la Piedad, y en él, tanto la Virgen como Cristo tienen los ojos de cristal; ella permanece con las dos manos levantadas y con la vista en el cielo, mientras que Jesús está sobre la rodilla derecha de la Virgen.
