that was the whole point of her video, she was inspired by "Diamond's are a girl's best friend", hence Madonna went through the whole Marilyn Monroe look and phase shortly after this video, it was an inspiration, it was meant to be like that, and I agree Hillary Duff is not a Material Girl, nor does she do this song justice.

The scenes are a total rip off of Marilyn Monroe's Diamonds are a girl's best friend. I'm sorry, but its kinda true if you watch the vid. They're both great songs, though. And Hilary Duff is definately NOT a Material Girl.
