no. idiot glam metal and heavy metal came at the same time basically. Sabbath anyone? pretty sure they werent glam. Diamond head? Iron Maiden? Metallica started in like 80' and all that motley crue, ratt, poison, skid row were banding together almost the same time as metallica and got famous around 83'
